TRENTON - A Trenton man wanted on outstanding warrants was charged with aggravated assault after throwing punches at police, authorities said.
Police arrived at the home of Brian Montgomery, 57, around 8:40 a.m. Wednesday and to arrest him on outstanding warrants. A man behind the locked front door would not allow police inside, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
During the conversation, the man raised the window blinds and was recognized by officers as Montgomery, Varn said.
Officers got in the house and tried to arrest Montgomery, who tried to punch officer and kicked them, Varn said.
Montgomery was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, hindering, obstruction, disorderly conduct, and five outstanding warrants, Varn said.
His bail was set at $15,000, according to police records.
