TRENTON - A Trenton woman who hit a man in the head with a hammer was arrested on assault charges, police said.
Ellen Allen, 64, was arguing with her child's father shortly after 5 p.m. on Wednesday on the 800 block of Southard Street, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
The argument escalated and Allen picked up a hammer and swung it at the father, a 45-year-old Trenton man. The man was bleeding from the forehead when police arrived and he was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, Varn said.
Allen was arrested on aggravated assault and weapons charges, along with three outstanding warrants, Varn said.
Allen's bail was set at $35,000, according to police records.
