Princeton has taken the top spot again in a new ranking released by the website Kiplinger.com.
PRINCETON - Another ranking site has put Princeton University in the number one spot in a list of the top private universities in the country.
The ranking site Kiplinger.com named Princeton the best private university in the country, according to a press release from Kiplinger.
The website compiles data from public and private universities and colleges to determine a ranking of the best schools in the country in terms of both affordability and quality, the release said.
For quality they look at admissions rates, the percentage of students who return to the school after their freshman year, the student-to-faculty ratio and graduation rates.

Though Princeton University took the top spot for private universities, it came in second to Washington and Lee University in an overall ranking of the best schools in the country, the release said.
Washington and Lee University is a private institution but was counted as a private liberals arts college in Kiplinger's ranking.
The website will publish their rankings in their February print edition, Kiplinger's Personal Finance.
The result of the ranking is not unheard of for Princeton University, which is often ranked one of the best universities in the country and even the world.
In October, the U.S. News and World Report compiled a list of the best schools in the world and ranked Princeton University at number 13.
