Three of Mayor Eric Jackson's acting directors have been promoted to permanent positions
TRENTON -- Three of Mayor Eric Jackson's acting directors have been promoted to permanent positions after they were brought before council members on Thursday.
City Council unanimously approved the appointments of Leslie Graham as director of inspections, Marc McKithen as law director and Ronald Zilinski as director of finance.
Graham, who was hired in September, was the last one to join the mayor's cabinet, filling a position that had been left vacant a year before.
McKithen, who was already working in the city's law department as an attorney, was named acting director following David Minchello's resignation in July. He previously held the post under former Mayor Tony Mack from July 2010 to June 2011.
Zilinski was hired in November to help finalize the budget after previous stints with the city as a municipal comptroller and later as chief financial officer.
After Thursday, the lone cabinet post still awaiting a permanent appointment is the director of Housing and Economic Development. Diana Rogers, who served as the director for the Division of Economic Development, took over as acting director after Monique King-Viehland resigned in October.
Earlier Thursday, the mayor confirmed that Qareeb Bashir, whose title was unclear, is the permanent fire director.
