TRENTON - A Trenton woman was arrested and charged with child endangerment after leaving her toddler home alone, police said.
Mecca McNeil, 21, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after police received a tip that McNeil's 4-year-old son was left home alone, Lt. James Slack said.
The boy answered the door at a house on the 200 block of Coolidge Avenue when police arrived around 7:30 p.m. McNeil, nor any other adult, was home at the time, Slack said.
The child was taken to police headquarters, where they were met by McNeil, who arrived at the station before police. The state Division of Child Protection and Permanency is assisting with the investigation, Slack said.
McNeil was also charged with five outstanding warrants. Her bail was set at $50,000 for the endangerment charge and an additional $31,000 for the combined amount of the five warrants, according to police records.
