Oktoberfest will now be Saturday Oct. 15 and Sunday Oct. 16.
HAMILTON -- Expected rainy, windy weather has led the township to reschedule the two-day Oktoberfest planned for his weekend at Veterans Park.
Oktoberfest will now be Oct. 15 and 16.
"As excited as we are to kick-off our first-ever Oktoberfest, we want to make sure our community can enjoy the celebration in more favorable weather conditions," Hamilton Mayor Kelly Yaede said in a statement.
"So in two weeks, I hope that our entire community will come out to Veterans Park and help us begin this exciting, new tradition," Yaede said.
The schedule will remain the same with Saturday's festivities beginning at 3 p.m. with a kick-off concert by the band, The Heartbeats. Following the performance will be fireworks.
In between, residents will be able to enjoy food vendors and kid activities, such as bounce houses.
Sunday's activities will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and include crafters, fall-themed music, entertainment, hayrides, a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, food vendors and more.
The township announced Oktoberfest last month after deciding to combine two longtime festivals, Septemberfest and Fall Harvest, into a single, two-day event.
