Albert Alford, 31, is charged with burglary and theft
TRENTON -- A Trenton man is facing charges he forced his way into his ex-girlfriend's house and caused damage, police said.
Albert Alford, 31, is charged with burglary and theft. He also had five warrants totaling $3,960.
On Aug. 23 at around 12:45 p.m., Alford went to his ex-girlfriend's house on Dunham Street and when she didn't let him in, began arguing through the door, said Lt. Rolando Ramos. He kicked the door in, damaging the door and frame.
Once he was inside, he grabbed her cellphone and threw it at the TV, breaking the screen, Ramos said.
Alford and his ex, a 30-year-old woman, continued their argument upstairs. He grabbed her hoop earrings and then fled, Ramos said.
A warrant was issued for Alford's arrest and he was taken into custody Tuesday.
