Trenton woman charged with smacking police officer in face

Carolyn Brown, 22, is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer

TRENTON -- A Trenton woman is charged with smacking a police officer in the face while he was trying to place her under arrest.

Carolyn Brown, 22, is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and obstructing the administration of law.

Officers Domingo Perez and Alberto Barboza were in the area of Southard Street and Brunswick Avenue around 6:41 p.m. Tuesday when they saw a car speed past them toward North Olden Avenue, said Lt. Rolando Ramos.

They eventually pulled over the car at the intersection of Brunswick and North Olden avenues. Brown, the driver, didn't have a license, but became belligerent and refused to cooperate with the officers, Ramos said.

They ordered Brown out of the car and, during a struggle, she smacked Perez in the face, Ramos said.

She was eventually placed under arrest.
