O'Connor McCalla, 37, was charged with assault by auto after the incident on June 11 when prosecutors said he drunkenly drove down Route 29. Around 10:30 p.m., McCalla crashed into the backs of two parked police cars that were blocking off traffic near the Calhoun Street exit.

When officers went to McCalla's car, they found that he was intoxicated with an open container of alcohol and a 2-year-old boy in the backseat of his car, prosecutors said.

The boy suffered a minor injury on his face as a result of the crash.

Prosecutors released more details on the crash after McCalla's bail hearing Tuesday morning. He was initially issued a $35,000 bail but that was reduced to $15,000 during his hearing Tuesday morning, prosecutors said.
