Neither of the victims knew where the shots came from
TRENTON -- Trenton police are investigating a shooting that sent one to the hospital with a gunshot wound and injured another.
Officers responded to the 200 block of East Hanover Street around 10:40 p.m. Monday on a report of shots fired, police Lt. Stephen Varn said.
They found a male victim who had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. He told police he was in the area with a friend when he heard several shots and felt a burning sensation in his leg.
He knew he had been hit, but didn't see where the shots came from, Varn said.
He was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton and treated for a through-and-through gunshot wound.
Police later found the victim's friend, who told them he ducked behind a car when he heard the shots. He also didn't see who had fired at them, Varn said. He suffered a minor injury to his hand, but the cause was unknown.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Shooting Response Team.
