UPDATE: Shooting victim dies days before 26th birthday
TRENTON -- A man who was shot Wednesday afternoon on Washington Street remains in "extremely critical condition," police said.
The 25-year-old Trenton resident was shot in the torso and taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, police Lt. Stephen Varn said.
The 3:50 p.m. shooting was followed by a homicide hours later at the nearby intersection of Whittaker and Elmer Street. The victim, who has been identified as 38-year-old Elvin Grimsley, was sitting in a car when he was shot. He was rushed to the hospital but died a short time later.
No suspects have been identified in either shooting.
