Joshua Fields, 19, of Trenton, was arrested early Thursday
TRENTON -- Two teenagers are facing drug charges after they were busted by police for drug dealing.
Joshua Fields, 19, was seen dealing drugs in the area of Sanhican Drive on May 26 by detectives from Trenton's Violent Crimes Unit and the State Police's Crime Suppression Central Unit, police Lt. Stephen Varn said. He also had an unnamed 14-year-old with him helping in the dealing, Varn said.
When the arrest teams moved in, Fields was able to get away, but the 14-year-old was taken into custody. He was charged with drug offenses and taken to a youth detention facility, Varn said.
Warrants were then issued for Fields, who was arrested about 1:17 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Oakland Street. Police seized 20 decks of heroin and $460 in suspected narcotics proceeds, Varn said.
Fields' charges include distribution of CDS, intent to distribute within 500 feet of a park and employing a juvenile in a narcotics scheme.
