PRINCETON -- A campus alert was issued at Princeton University Monday after a man was seen with his pants down on campus.

The "act of lewdness" occurred at 11:55 a.m. on the south end of the West Garage in a grassy area near the NJ Transit train tracks, the Department of Public Safety warned students in an email.

A witness reported seeing a man with his pants pulled down around his ankles, exposing his buttocks. His hands were in front of him and were not seen.

The man was described as white, around 40 years old, about 5-feet-10 to 6-feet-tall, thin build with thinning hair and wearing a black 3-button polo shirt and blue jeans.

Department of Public Safety officers immediately responded to check the entire area, but the man was gone by the time they had arrived.
