HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP -- A building at Janssen Pharmaceutical's Titusville campus was evacuated Monday morning due to an odor caused by a mechanical malfunction, the company said.
Township police and firefighters responded to the building on Trenton-Harbourton Road near Bear Tavern Road at about 9:30 a.m. Monday.
The Trenton Fire Department's hazardous materials unit also responded to investigate the odor, but found nothing hazardous and left scene a short time later, the department said.
A Janssen spokeswoman said the incident was contained to one laboratory room.
The building was evacuated the building out of an abundance of caution and employees returned to their workplaces at about 12 noon.
No injuries were reported.
