TRENTON - A Trenton storeowner was repeatedly stabbed in the face, head and body when opening his store early Sunday, police said.
The 55-year-old man was opening his store on the 700 block of Chambers Street when he was approached by a woman and two men around shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday. The woman demanded money and began stabbing him with an unknown instrument, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
The man was stabbed in the face, head and upper torso. A nearby car alarm began to sound, scarring off the attackers, Varn said.
The shopkeeper was able to drive himself to St. Francis Medical Center, where he was treated for his injuries, Varn said.
The incident is under investigation by Detective Scott Peterson, Varn said.
