TRENTON -- Police have linked a Trenton man on parole from state prison to separate shootings in different city neighborhoods.
Keith Porter, 28, was apprehended Feb. 18 in the 700 block of Beatty Street by members of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force, city police said.
Porter was wanted on a parole violation warrant, but detectives from the Shooting Response Team had also charged him with two shootings sine late last year.
Detectives charged Porter with shooting a man in the 400 block of North Clinton Avenue in East Trenton on Feb. 5, as well as firing on a man during a drive-by shooting on Dec. 21 in the 100 block of Hancock Street.
A 27-year-old man was wounded in the North Clinton Avenue shooting and a 28-year-old man was wounded in the Hancock Street shooting. Both survived.
In January, police arrested an alleged accomplice in the December shooting as well.
Man hospitalized after drive-by shooting
Porter was returned to the state prison system this past weekend when arrested. Records show he was paroled in 2014 from a term in which he started in 2010 for robbery and weapons convictions in 2008 and 2009.
During the 2009 crime, records show, Porter and an accomplice grabbed a 45-year-old man by the neck and grabbed him by the neck and rifled his pockets for cash, also in the 100 block of Hancock Street.
The city's joint Shooting Response Team investigates non-fatal shootings.
