TRENTON - A 28-year-old city man was taken to a local hospital with gunshot wounds after a drive-by shooting, police said.
The man told police he was walking in the area of Hancock and Home Avenue when he saw a black vehicle pull up, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
The man then heard a single gunshot and began running. Then he heard several more gunshots and realized he was hit, Varn said.
The man collapsed on the 100 block of Hancock Street. He was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton with a gunshot wound to his stomach and to his lower right back. He was admitted for possible surgery, Varn said.
The shooting response team is investigating, Varn said.
