Times Holiday Appeal: Fundraiser donations top $18K for Christine's Hope for Kids

The generosity of the community continues to grow. New donations to this year's Times Holiday Appeal for Christine's Hope for Kids have helped bring the total raised so far to $18,019.

The generosity of the community continues to grow. New donations to this year's Times Holiday Appeal for Christine's Hope for Kids have helped bring the total raised so far to $18,019.

On Friday, when the Appeal total reached $14,303, The Rose and Louis H. Linowitz Charitable Foundation pledged to match the next $5,000 raised from contributors, challenging the community to be generous this holiday season. This means $1,284 is still needed to meet the foundation's match.

Our latest donations include a gift of $500 from Six Eleven Little League of Trenton.

Fowler's Gulf Auto Repairs of Princeton sent $250 with a note, "Holiday wishes from Fowler's Gulf."

The Hamilton Township Democratic Club sent $105 with a note, "The Hamilton Township Democratic Club appreciates the Times Holiday Appeal selecting Christine's Hope for Kids this year. This deserving organization is the spirit of Christmastime year round - in giving, sharing and helping children who are less fortunate and by supporting community agencies that benefit these special children."

Gifts of $100 each were received from Patricia Holbig of Ewing, Women's Alliance of UUCP of Princeton, Mario and Felicia DeVincenzi of Lawrence, Gordon and Rosemarie Havlicek of West Windsor, the Manlio-Boczkowskis (and extended families) of East Windsor and the Petersons of Trenton with a note, "Every child deserves love."

Betty Ann and Jim Benton of Pennington also sent $100 with a note, "Betty Ann Benton was Christine's first grade teacher at Hopewell Elementary School in Hopewell. Christine was a member of the class nicknamed the 'Benton Bunnies' known for its spirit and willingness to celebrate the joy of learning in first grade. This donation is made in memory of Christine and that love of learning throughout life."

Sending $50 each were X-Pando Products Company of Trenton, Phillip and Jane Marchetti of Ewing, Steven Breen of Trenton, Suzanne Backman and Greg of Hamilton, Judith L. Fleming of Lawrence, Lis Nalbone of Ewing, Brenda Mihan of Princeton Junction, Cindy and Bill Baker of Hamilton, Jane Brown of Hamilton, Maureen Heffernan and Elisabeth Stewart of Trenton, Dan and Linda Malek of Lambertville and Marilyn Weissenburger of Robbinsville.

Leslye and Mark Nemerson of East Windsor sent $36 with a note, "In loving memory of our brothers. They would have been so impressed by the wonderful accomplishments of Christine's Hope."

Gifts of $25 each were received from Judy and Henry Wagner of Pennington, Elaine M. Conti of Hamilton, Susan Porcella of Pennington, K. Grant of Hamilton and the Beeman family of Bordentown.

Doris Cleary of Hamilton sent $20.

Anonymous donations include $100 from Ewing; $100 from Lambertville; $50 from Trenton; $50 from Ewing; $30 from Ewing; $25 from East Windsor and $25 from "Friends in Mill Hill" with a note, "We are glad to support Christine's Hope for Kids, a wonderful local charity."

The total includes another $1,000 from NJM Insurance Group, which has pledged to donate $1,000 for every $5,000 contributed by the community and other business donors throughout the 2015 campaign.

Heartfelt thanks to these benefactors.

All gifts will be acknowledged in The Times. Anonymity will be granted if requested.
