Authorities said the driver lost control of her car and veered into oncoming traffic on the highway.
MILLSTONE -- Authorities have identified the driver killed in a near head-on crash on I-195 in Millstone on Thursday as a Mercer County woman from East Windsor.
Sgt. Gregory Williams, a New Jersey State Police spokesman, said the dead driver is Robin Hooley, 35.
He said Hooley was driving a 2005 Nissan Maxima west on I-195 near mile marker 14.4 in Millstone when she lost control of the car. He said the Nissan veered across the grassy median and into traffic in the westbound lanes of the highway, where it hit a 2004 Ford box truck nearly head-on.
Hooley was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:01 p.m., he said.
Injured in the crash were the truck's driver, Cedric DeLeon, 44, of Trenton, and his passenger, Richard Shanko 3d, 30, of Easthampton, Williams said. He said they were taken to Robert Wood University Medical Center in Hamilton where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Williams said it is too early to determine why Hooley lost control of the car.
