The Trenton City Council is expected to vote on whether three of the mayor's cabinet members can drop the "acting" from their titles

TRENTON -- The Trenton City Council is expected to vote this week on whether three of the mayor's cabinet members can drop the "acting" from their titles.

Mayor Eric Jackson will appear before council on Thursday to present acting Director of Inspections Leslie Graham, acting Law Director Marc McKithen and acting Director of Finance Ronald Zilinski for advice and consent and its final approval.

Graham was hired in September, filling a position that had been left vacant since September 2014 when Cleveland Thompson was fired. Business administrator Terry McEwen and Chief of Staff Francis Blanco had been sharing the duties of interim inspections director while a search for a permanent director was ongoing.

McKithen, a city attorney who served as law director from July 2010 to June 2011, was promoted following David Minchello's resignation in July.

Zilinski, who worked for the city as municipal comptroller from 1979 to 1985 and again as the chief financial officer from 2007 to 2010, returned last November.

Graham and Zilinski both have ties to Plainfield, where Jackson was Director of Public Works from September 2011 until he won the election in June 2014.

Graham worked in Plainfield's building and construction office since 2003 and Zilinski served as its CFO and treasurer from December 2010 to January 2012.

Minchello and Jacqueline Foushee, the city's Director of Public Works, also worked for Plainfield.
