JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST - A tanker aircraft circled around Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst for about an hour Thursday while crews worked to fix a malfunction, base officials said.
During a normal flight shortly after noon Thursday, a KC-10A tanker and cargo plane's refueling line would not retract. Neither the crew nor anyone on the ground was in danger, Staff Sgt. Caitlin Jones said.
"This is the kind of thing we train for all the time,'' Jones said.
Crews were able to get the refueling line to retract after about an hour and the plane landed safely, officials said.
