More searches planned for woman missing from Hamilton

Christine Rosie was reported missing by a family member on Thursday night, but her car was discovered early Wednesday morning on Kuser Road.

HAMILTON - Authorities plan to widen their search for a 44-year-old woman missing since last week, Hamilton police said Monday.

Christine Rosie was reported missing by a family member on Thursday night, but her car was discovered early Wednesday morning, idling on the eastbound shoulder of Kuser Road near the Route 295 overpass, police have said.

Since that discovery, police said they have been searching the area where her car was found, including searches Saturday evening and Sunday during the daylight hours.

"We have not yet determined if foul play was involved," Hamilton police said in a statement Monday. "In addition to the multiple searches already conducted, there are plans for widening the search areas, as well as responding to the leads that we are receiving."

Rosie's personal belongings were found in her idling car, and police have said an initial search of the area by police found nothing.

Rosie is 5-feet tall, weighs about 130 pounds, has green eyes, brown hair, and a butterfly tattoo on her left ankle. She was last seen Tuesday night at approximately 8:30 p.m. at a family member's township residence, police said. 

The New Jersey State Police aviation unit, Hamilton firefighters and Robert Clark Investigations' bloodhound team have assisted Hamilton police and Rosie's family and friends in the searches.
