HAMILTON -- A 38-year-old convicted felon has been charged with killing Jessica Prusik earlier this month and dumping her body in a Hamilton park, authorities announced Wednesday.
Tyron Lindsay, of East State Street in Hamilton, was apprehended at his workplace in Lawrence at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said.
Lindsay, a convicted robber who was released from state prison in April, is charged with first-degree murder for Prusik's death, the prosecutor's office said.
The prosecutor's office also said Wednesday that Prusik was strangled. The prosecutor's had not elaborated on how the 38-year-old Hamilton mother was killed after an autopsy found the cause of her death was homicide.
The prosecutor's office said in a statement that Lindsay was arrested on unrelated warrants on Oct. 7 and he allegedly possessed Prusik's bank cards.
Prusik's body was discovered the day before, Oct 6 at about 9 a.m., at John A. Roebling Memorial Park, off Sewell Avenue off South Broad Street.
Detectives were able to identify Lindsay as the last known person to be with Prusik on Oct. 5 and also put them together in a black 1992 Ford F150 extended cab pickup truck, the prosecutor's office said.
Investigators also found video surveillance that shows the truck heading toward Roebling Park on Oct. 6, officials said.
Authorities made public pictures of a similar truck on Oct. 8 in hopes the public could help find the vehicle and it was located two days later in Bristol Township, Pa., officials said.
Authorities with knowledge of the case have said Prusik was known to use the vehicle, but did not own it.

The prosecutor's office did not say why Lindsay and Prusik were together Oct. 5 or why he allegedly strangled her.
Prusik's obituary and Times of Trenton archives show the two attended Nottingham High School in Hamilton at the same time in the 1990s.
State records also show Lindsay was convicted of robbery in Mercer County in 2004 and sentenced to five years in state prison.
Lindsay was released in 2010, but from 2011 to April of this year, he was sent back to prison for three shorter terms in connection with his original sentence. The last ended April 1.
During that time, Lindsay's LinkedIn page shows he studied automotive mechanics at Mercer County Community College, earning an associates degree, and worked for two local automotive shops, the last a car stereo and alarm installer.
Prusik was a married mother of two children and stepmother to five.
Her obituary, which identified her as Jessica Prusik-Martinez, said she was a 1996 graduate of Nottingham High School in Hamilton and recently started her own house-cleaning business, Cardinal Cleaning Service.
The obituary also said, "Jessica was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who loved her."
Detectives Luis Vega and Joe Ialacci are the lead investigators for the Mercer County Homicide Task Force, which investigating along with Hamilton police detectives.
The U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force assisted with Lindsay's arrest Tuesday night.
Lindsay was being held on $1 million bail Wednesday.
