WEST WINDSOR - The Indo American Fair held at Mercer County Park held this weekend brought authentic culture, live music and food from India.

People from all over New Jersey came to Mercer County Park this weekend to enjoy the vendors, shops and organizations stationed there.

Piscataway residents Sridelvi Patil and Sunil Patil, with their 7-year-old son Harsh Patil, just learned of the fair this year.

While Harsh Patil's favorite activity at the fair was the House of Bounce, his mother Sridelvi Patil said the food vendors were her favorite.

"We enjoy the food," Sridelvi Patil said. "I'm drinking Sugarcane juice. Our favorite was the dosa."

Parsippany resident Nosheen Ghafoor has been coming to the Indo American fair for the past five years, mainly to shop.

On Sunday, Ghafoor was with her 2-year-old son and 4-year-old niece.

"Yesterday, I did the shopping," Ghafoor said. "The kids have a good time. Today is for the kids."

One Cranberry-based non-profit that had a table at the fair was Chinmaya Mission, an organization teaching the Hinduism through workshops, lectures, prayer sessions and meditation.

"The mission is based on pure knowledge," Swami Shantananda said. "We have programs for the whole family. It's about personal growth and teaching values such as community involvement."
