TRENTON - A Trenton woman was taken to a local hospital after an argument with her boyfriend turned physical and ended in a bloody knife wound, police said Monday.
Manuel Sop-Zavala, 35, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, criminal mischief and weapons charges after police found a 27-year-old woman bleeding from the wrist on the 800 block of Genesee Street around 3 a.m., Lt. Stephen Varn said.
The woman told police she and her boyfriend, Sop-Zavala, were arguing, which escalated into a fight and he cut her with a kitchen knife, Varn said.
The woman was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton for treatment, Varn said.
Sop-Zavala was found standing at Liberty and Genesee streets. He was taken to St. Francis Medical Center for bruises and cuts to his back. He was charged after his release from the hospital.
