To mark the 60th year of the Times-Kiwanis Camp Fund, NJM Insurance Group (NJM) of West Trenton has generously donated $6,000 to close out the successful 2015 Camp Fund campaign.

Thanks to the generosity of NJM, Times readers, local companies, organizations and charitable foundations, the 2015 campaign has raised a total of $29,741.75 to help send area children with financial and special needs to summer camp.
"NJM is very pleased to support the Times-Kiwanis Camp Fund once again and thanks both organizations for maintaining this important 60-year partnership," said Patricia Hartpence, NJM's director of corporate giving. "Local youngsters benefit by experiencing the magic of the great outdoors through their participation in the variety of activities offered during summer camp."

Founded more than 100 years ago, NJM is one of the Garden State's leading writers of automobile and residential insurance and is the largest provider of workers' compensation coverage to businesses and their employees.

"For 60 years, The Times and Kiwanis Club of Trenton have asked Times readers to donate to this annual campaign," said Joan Mason, Times publisher.  "I thank our readers and once again thank the Kiwanis Club for their support.

"Many thanks also to NJM for its generous donation, and to longtime Times-Kiwanis Camp Fund supporters Trenton College Club and the Rose and Louis H. Linowitz Charitable Foundation for their generous match challenges. This last donation takes the 2015 Camp Fund well past its goal of raising $25,000 to help local children enjoy a great summer camp experience."

Alex Treece, Times-Kiwanis Camp Fund chairman, also expressed his gratitude to NJM and the community for their generous support of the Camp Fund.

"The Kiwanis Club of Trenton is grateful to The Times and its readers for their continued support of this worthy cause. Your participation in the Camp Fund makes a huge difference in the lives of local children. We offer a sincere thank you, and hope we can count on you next year."

Recent donors also include Ron Noll of Monmouth Junction, who sent a gift of $250.

Teresa and Pat Thayer of Lawrence sent $50 with a note, "Help keep kids off the street and make positive choices."

Mary and Bill Lueckel of Chesterfield sent $30 with a note, "With our thanks for the good work from the Trenton Kiwanis and Trenton Times."

With the help of the Times-Kiwanis Camp Fund, participating youngsters referred through public and private agencies have been able to attend camps and summer programs including those run by the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, YMCA Camp Mason, Family Guidance Center, HomeFront, CYO of Mercer County, RISE and Every Child Valued.
