Luciano Vega, 34, faces aggravated assault, weapons, drug and hindering apprehension charges
TRENTON -- Police have arrested a Trenton man accused of stabbing another man in the back with a steak knife in April.
Luciano Vega, 34, faces aggravated assault, weapons, drug and hindering apprehension charges.
During a dispute April 24, Vega allegedly stabbed a 37-year-old man in the lower left back before fleeing, said Lt. Stephen Varn. A warrant was issued for his arrest following an investigation.
On Wednesday around 6:37 p.m., Street Crime Unit detectives were patrolling the 100 block of Walnut Avenue when they saw a man, later identified as Vega, standing in front of a corner store, Varn said. When Vega saw the detectives, he became nervous, quickly turned around and walked back into the store while looking over his shoulder, Varn said.
Police followed him inside and saw him discard a small piece of plastic containing suspected crack cocaine. They also found $434 in cash on him, Varn said.
