TRENTON -- Flames destroyed a car on South Broad Street in Trenton Tuesday afternoon. The two occupants were not injured, the fire department said.
The Trenton Fire Department shut traffic down in the area - just south of the Sun National Bank Arena near Furman Street - to extinguish the 3 p.m. fire.
The fire department said the driver had exited nearby Route 129 because the vehicle started smoking, and initially sought assistance from a nearby gas station.
Moments later, as the occupants were at the station, the car was engulfed in flames.
