TRENTON -- Detectives have charged a South Ward resident with shooting a man in the ankle in June, police said.
Jamar Collins, 28, is charged with aggravated assault and weapon possession for allegedly shooting a man at about 5:40 a.m. June 24 at the corner of Barnt Avenue and Elm Street, police said.
The victim - 47 years old at the time - suffered a non life-threatening injury.
Detectives had previously charged Collins with the June crime and he was taken into custody early Wednesday, police said.
Police did not elaborate on the motive for the shooting. The police department's Shooting Response Team investigated the case.
Collins, who lives in the South Ward, was initially held on $100,000 bail Wednesday.
