WEST WINDSOR -- West Windsor police have stepped up their patrols in neighborhoods and at the schools at dismissal times following the attempted lurings of two pre-teenage boys in the past week.
The first incident occurred Friday between 3:30 and 4 p.m. on the sidewalk of Old Trenton Road near Emily Court.
The man was described as taller than 6 feet, broad chest and wearing a black leather jacket with zippers on the sleeves and chest, police said.
The second attempted luring occurred Tuesday between 7 and 7:30 p.m. at Monterey and Benford drives.
The man was described as white with a dark complexion, tall, thin build and wearing a black poncho with the hood pulled up, police said.
The suspects were both described as having deep voices.
Police are reminding residents to be vigilant of their surroundings and to immediately report anything suspicious. They are also urging parents to reinforce their children's awareness of "stranger danger" and personal safety.
Police say they are continuing to "vigorously" investigate both incidents as they attempt to identify the suspect or suspects. Any questions or concerns can be directed to Lt. Matthew Kemp at 609-799-1222.
