People were shot on Spring, Race and Lamberton streets in Trenton.
TRENTON -- Police are searching for several suspects after three separate shootings in Trenton between Saturday evening and early Sunday morning.
Authorities were notified of the first shooting around 5:05 p.m. Saturday when a man walked into Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton suffering from a gunshot wound to his right leg.
Police say the man -- a 31-year-old resident of Spring Street -- told them that four young men on bicycles asked him to meet them in Casper Alley off Passaic Street.
When the man did so, he was pistol-whipped in the head and then shot in the leg before the young males robbed him of $15,000 the man told police he had recently won at a casino, police said.
Police said the man refused to identify the suspects and said only that one of his assailants was wearing a raincoat.
The man suffered a laceration above his right eye and a fractured jaw in addition to the gunshot wound, police said.
Blood and a bullet hole were found on the car that man used to drive himself to the hospital.
At 9:50 p.m. Saturday, police received numerous calls reporting gunshots on the first block of Race Street.
Capital Health Regional Medical Center soon reported that another man -- this time a 21-year-old resident of Nassau Street -- had also suffered a gunshot to his leg.
The victim told police that after leaving the scene of a party where he and his girlfriend and gotten involved in a verbal altercation with other individuals, his girlfriend couldn't find her car keys.
Police looking for suspect in 20-year-old's killing
Police say the couple returned to look for the keys when his girlfriend was attacked with a baseball bat by another woman who had been involved in the in the altercation.
The boyfriend took the bat from the woman and then heard a gunshot, police said. The couple ran and then told police they heard four more shots fired.
The man then realized he had been shot in the leg and drove to the hospital.
Police say the woman suspected of wielding the bat has been identified, but that an unidentified man with a handgun was also at the scene with the female suspect.
Lastly, police responded to reports of shots fired on the 900 block of Lamberton Street and found a 28-year-old man shot in the arm after he and his girlfriend were carjacked at about 12:40 a.m. Sunday.
The man told police that two men wearing black clothing with black bandanas over their faces opened the doors of a parked car while he and his girlfriend were inside, police said.
Police said one suspect put the gun to the head of the man and ordered him out of the white 2003 Lexus. The man and his girlfriend fled before hearing two gunshots, one of which hit the man in the left shoulder, Police said.
The suspects fled with the car, police said.
The man was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for surgery, police said.
Police did not announce any arrests in the shootings, and detectives have ongoing investigations into the crimee
