The public now has until Tuesday, Sept. 6 to file their comments
EWING -- The public has a few more days to file comments on the proposed toll schedule for the new Scudder Falls Bridge.
The original comment period was set to end Aug. 29, but officials with the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission extended the deadline until Tuesday, Sept. 6.
The earliest the tolls would go into effect would be 2019 when the first span of the new bridge opens to traffic.
Under the proposal, tolls would be $1.25 for passenger vehicles with E-ZPass, $2.60 for Toll-by-Plate passenger vehicles without E-ZPass and 75 cents for commuters who make at least 16 tolled trips per month.
Higher rates will be charged for trucks and other non-passenger vehicles, which officials say make up less than 10 percent of the bridge's current traffic.
The span will use an all-electronic toll system.
The bridge commission is also accepting comments for changes involving two-axle vehicles and RVs with trailers or cars in tow on its seven existing toll bridges.

Individuals interested in commenting should do so no later than the close of business Tuesday.
Comments can be sent via email (communityaffairs@drjtbc.org), online (drjtbc.org/comment) or mail (Director of Community Affairs, DRJTBC Executive Offices, 2492 River Road, New Hope, PA 18938).
