Ballistics and fingerprint tests will be done
TRENTON -- Police found a stash of loaded guns in a bag in the backyard of an abandoned house this week.
A .380 semi-automatic pistol loaded with hollow-point bullets, a .357 revolver and a .38 revolver were recovered Tuesday from the house on Breunig Avenue in the city's East Ward, police said.
Ballistics and fingerprint tests will be done to see if any of the weapons can be linked to shootings and who was using them, Sgt. Anthony Manzo said.
Recent shootings in the area prompted the search led by the Violent Crimes and Warrant units, which was done with help from the State Police's Crimes Suppression Unit. Manzo said criminals often stash their guns in abandoned houses for easy access and return for them later.
