TRENTON -- Residents in Trenton's Glen Afton neighborhood are renewing their call for more police patrols after two young men were caught on camera stealing from a home early Tuesday.
"We're disappointed with the patrols again," said Justin Tibbetts, president of the Glen Afton Community Association. "If criminals saw officers in the area as opposed to after the fact, it would make residents feel more safe and secure.
"They're never going to be able to fully prevent these things ... but it's a hard pill to swallow when we pay high taxes," he continued.
The 49-second surveillance clip shows two men walking around the backyard of a home on the 100 block of Morningside Avenue around 3:30 a.m. They were unable to get into the garage, but stole what appears to be beach chairs and an umbrella that were outside the door.
Tibbetts said items were stolen from a car and a bike was taken from another house on the block.
The neighborhood has dealt with waves of break-ins over the past year. In March, 26-year-old Allah Ricks was charged in connection with three burglaries.
"I want to stay here, but when these things keep happening, it makes it tough," Tibbetts said.
Police Lt. Stephen Varn said on Tuesday that he would have the detectives bureau look at the video.
