TRENTON -- A man shot on a Stuyvesant Avenue street corner Monday afternoon was in critical condition at a city hospital, Trenton police said.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was wounded at about 4 p.m. He's in his late 20s or early 30s, city police spokesman Lt. Stephen Varn said.
Varn said Monday evening the investigation was in its early stages and he did not have many details.
Police found the man on the 800 block of Stuyvesant Avenue at the intersection with Hoffman Avenue in the Wes Ward, Varn said.
An ambulance took him to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton. He was last listed in critical condition.
Two men were shot in a drive-by shooting at the intersection on July 19 in front of the same vacant storefront where police concentrated their presence on Monday evening.
In the July shooting, a 28-year-old man was shot in the face and leg, and a 32-year-old man was wounded in the leg. Both are city residents and survived their wounds.
The city's joint Shooting Response Team is investigating the Monday shooting
