Trenton police seized a handgun, drugs and cash from 31-year-old Shannon Reeves
TRENTON -- A Trenton man who caught the eye of passing police officers while sitting in his car is now facing drug and weapons charges, police said.
Shannon Reeves, 31 Shannon Reeves, 31, was sitting in his car on the first block of Sanford Street at 12:19 a.m. Saturday when an unmarked police car drove past him, said Lt. Stephen Varn.
Reeves became visibly nervous and started fumbling around with his center console, prompting the officers to stop, Varn said.
As the Street Crime Unit detectives approached the car, they saw an unlabeled bottle of pills and when they went to remove Reeves from the car, he slammed the center console shut, Varn said.
Police recovered a bag with a loaded handgun, two grams of cocaine and 34 decks of heroin. The pill bottle also had 31 oxycodone pills.
Reeves also had $490 in cash that was seized as suspected narcotics proceeds, Varn said.
