Woman charged with drug dealing after alleged transaction

TRENTON -- Street crimes officers charged a city woman with drug dealing offenses after allegedly witnessing her in a drug deal, police said.

Shanequa Roberts, 29, was arrested at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday after officers allegedly saw in a hand-to-hand transaction with a male at Chestnut Avenue and Smith Street, police said.

Both Roberts and the male were detained. Officers found the male with a quantity of heroins and Roberts with cash, suspected to be from a drug transaction, police alleged.

An investigation led the officers to charge Roberts with two counts of distributing drugs, possession with intent to distribute narcotics and possession of cocaine.

Roberts was being held on $25,000 cash-only bail Monday morning.
