Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is conducting mortar-firing training from Aug. 8 through Aug. 14
JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST -- Residents who live near Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst might hear explosions or feel the ground shake over the next several days.
Military units are slated to conduct mortar-firing training from Monday through Sunday, Aug. 14, both during the day and at night.
The base says the noise may travel farther during overcast weather conditions.
Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 114th Infantry Regiment and the 2nd Battalion, 113th Infantry Regiment will participate.
