Man trapped in car, seriously injured in 2-truck crash

The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. Saturday at a traffic light on Route 130

ROBBINSVILLE - A two-truck crash at a traffic light Saturday morning trapped one driver in his car and left him with serious injuries, Robbinsville police said.

The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m.

Police said a 21-year-old man driving an Isuzu truck was stopped at a red light on Route 130 near Windsor Road, police said in a statement.

A 42-year-old man driving a Isuzu box truck was heading in the same direction and crashed into the 21-year-old's truck.

The force of the crash knocked the 42-year-old man unconscious and trapped him in his truck, the statement said.

Multiple witnesses at the scene called 911 and police arrived to find the man in serious condition.

Firefighters and first responders worked for at least half an hour to free him from his truck and then took him by ambulance Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton.

He was in critical condition Saturday afternoon.

The 21-year-old in the stopped car was uninjured in the crash.

Police shut down a section of Route 130 in both directions until around 12:30 p.m.
