Dontay Brannon, 28, was arrested Monday morning at his home on the 400 block of New Willow Street in Trenton.

He was charged with two counts of unlawful handgun possession, one count of possession of handgun by someone having being convicted of enumerated offenses and resisting arrest.

In 2008, Brannon was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in the death of 21-year-old David Campbell in November 2006. He had also been charged with killing Terrance Williams, 33, and shooting Pierre Wilson, 22, leaving him paralyzed, but those charges were dropped as part of the plea deal.

Brannon, a member of the Gangster Killer Bloods gang, made headlines in June 2007 when he was mistakenly set free from prison because of what county officials described as clerical errors. The errors allowed a state parole officer to order his release contingent on attending a court hearing in Hamilton on minor burglary-related charges. He was found a month later in an East Stroudsburg, Pa., house.

Records show Brannon was released from prison Jan. 3.

Earlier this month, sheriff's officers who are members of the U.S. Marshals' New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force received information that Brannon had illegal firearms. Authorities found two loaded handguns -- a Smith and Weston .38 special revolver and a .45-caliber Sig Sauer P-220 pistol -- in Brannon's home during a search Monday.

Brannon has been jailed in Mercer County Correction Center without bail for violating his parole.
