No one was in the house when the fire broke out around 1 p.m. Saturday, police said.
EWING - A house fire that started Saturday afternoon was deemed accidental Sunday, police said.
The fire was called in around 1 p.m. Saturday at a residence on the 1100 block of Lower Ferry Road. Firefighters from multiple jurisdictions responded to the scene to find fire coming from a rear window of the house. They were able to get the fire under control around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, firefighters said.
The flames erupted in a rear bathroom and could have been connected to recent construction happening at the house, Ewing police said Sunday.
No one was in the home at the time. Neighbors said the house is normally occupied by college students from The College of New Jersey but that no one was living in the house during the fire.
Police said the house is inhabitable after the blaze.
