The arrest brings the county's most wanted list up to an 85 percent capture rate.

TRENTON -- A man who has been on the Mercer County Sheriff's Most Wanted List for over two years is now in the custody of local authorities.

Shane Fitzpatrick, 29, was extradited to New Jersey after being captured in Orlando, Florida by a U.S. Marshals task force on July 1, 2016.

Fitzpatrick had warrants out for his arrest for sexual assault of a minor in 2011, arson in 2008 and failure to appear in court in 2013, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The Mercer County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Unit says they notified the task force of Fitzpatrick's whereabouts "after an exceedingly active investigation."

"I am grateful to the U.S. Marshals and the local authorities in Orlando for their efforts to help capture one of Mercer's Most Wanted," said Sheriff Jack Kemler in a press release.

Fitzpatrick arrived back in Mercer County today under secured transport, officials said.

He was held in Orange County Jail while awaiting transport back to Mercer County.

Sheriffs say Fitzpatrick is being held in the Mercer County Corrections Center awaiting appearance in court.
