Police responded to the 100 block of Elm Street Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. on the report of drug sales from an abandoned home, police spokesman Lt. Stephen Varn said.

When detectives Stephen Szbanz and Miguel Acosta arrived, they found two Trenton residents Jujuan Jones, 43, and Jamaal Spears, 19, in the home.

However, officers saw a 17-year-old walking out the front door and he was told to stop, Varn said.

After further investigation, the officers found a handgun, heroin and cocaine near the door where the minor was attempting to leave, Varn said.

The 17-year-old was found in possession of $237 believed to be proceeds from a drug deal, 131 decks of heroin and 8 grams of cocaine, Varn said.

The minor is facing charges for possession of the handgun and its possession during a narcotic scheme, possession of both the heroin and cocaine with intent to distribute and intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school and 500 feet of a park.

He is also facing charges for having a prohibited device because the handgun was loaded with hollow point ammunition. Jones and Spears are charged with defiant trespass.
