PRINCETON -- Police are investigating the reported sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman at a home on Meethinghouse Court, police said.
Princeton police said the victim, a Princeton resident, reported being assaulted at a party at the home off Cherry Valley Road at about 5 a.m. Monday, July 4.
The department said Tuesday the investigation is ongoing, and police did not offer any other details about the incident.
Police did say they have no reason to suspect a connection between this alleged assault and the sexual assault of a woman on Birch Avenue last week.
Last week, Princeton police arrested Pedro Arias-Santiago, 26, of Princeton, moments after he allegedly fled a Birch Avenue home after sexually assaulting a woman as she slept.
After his arrest, police said they were investigating an incident earlier in June in which a second woman - a 19-year-old from Illinois - told police she was staying at the home on Birch Avenue and saw Arias-Santiago came in through an unlocked door.
That woman was not assaulted, and Arias-Santiago allegedly fled the home during the confrontation.
Arias-Santiago, originally from Guatemala and living in the country illegally, was being held on $200,000 bail last week at the Mercer County Correction Center in Hopewell Township, and federal immigration authorities were notified of his arrest.
