Alicia James was arrested after police say she swerved into a parked car and drove through a fence.
TRENTON -- A Trenton woman is facing drunken driving charges after police say she crashed into a parked vehicle, drove through a fence and onto a resident's front yard Saturday night.
Police arrested Alicia James, 50, after they found her car crashed car on the front yard of a Pennington Avenue residence, police spokesman Lt. Stephen Varn said.
Police responded to Pennington Avenue on the report of a motor vehicle crash at midnight, Varn said.
When officers arrived, they found a car crashed into the front yard of a house on the 500 block of Pennington Avenue, Varn said.
Witnesses told police they saw a car swerving on the right of the road into a parked car before swerving to the other side and crashing into a fence.
After further investigation, police believe James was driving under the influence, though she refused to be submit her breath, Varn said.
James is charged with drunken driving, refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, disregard of marked lanes, failure to keep right, driving and speeding on the sidewalk.
