Leslie O. Graham has worked in Plainfield since 2003.
TRENTON - Mayor Eric Jackson has named a building inspector from Plainfield as acting director of inspections pending approval of the City Council, the mayor announced Friday.
Leslie O. Graham has worked in Plainfield since 2003. Jackson was Plainfield's public works director before being elected mayor last year.
"As a former contractor licensed with the State of New Jersey as a construction official, building subcode official, building inspector, fire protection subcode official, fire protection inspector, plumbing inspector and mechanical inspector, Mr. Graham is eminently qualified, bringing three decades of proven experience to an important job," Jackson said in a statement.
Jackson has tapped other Plainfield officials for cabinet posts in his administration, including former law director David Minchello and current public works director Jacqueline Foushee.

Before working in Plainfield, Graham owned Graham Construction for 20 years and also worked as a carpenter with Plainfield-based Oxford Realty and Construction.
Jackson said Graham starts Tuesday his office will schedule him to appear before City Council for advice and consent in the weeks ahead.
The inspections director position has been vacant since Jackson took office last year. Business Administrator Terry McEwen and Chief of Staff Francis Blanco have been sharing the duties of interim inspections director while a search for a permanent director was conducted.
