Ronbo Fan, an ex-Princeton student accused of climbing into a girl's bed last fall, is entering a pre-trial intervention program to avoid prosecution

Ronbo Fan, 20, a former sophomore at Princeton University was admitted into a three-year pre-trial intervention program this week. If he successfully completes the program, his charges will be dismissed.

Mercer County prosecutors allege Fan crawled into a female student's bed while she was asleep in her dorm room on Oct. 31.

The girl woke up to find a stranger in her bed with one arm around her. She screamed and the person fled the scene, according to a statement from the university.

Fan was identified and charged with criminal sexual contact and burglary two weeks later. He was banned from campus and expelled shortly after his arrest.

The pre-trial deal means Fan must undergo a three-year period of supervision, continue therapy, complete community service and be enrolled in school, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. He is also ordered not to have any contact with the victim.

Fan's attorney, Kim Otis, said Fan has been living in his home state of Texas for months and plans to continue his education there.
