The award is available to high school seniors who pursue degrees in business and are committed to community service.

HAMILTON  -- Hamilton Township awarded scholarships to three high school seniors on Friday.

Ericka Aguilar, Grace Dwyer and Victoria Bezek each received a $750 scholarship. The annual scholarship program is available to township seniors pursuing a degree in a business-related field and show a strong commitment to community service.

"Our award recipients not only represent the type of young adults in our community that will continue on to successful careers, but also represent the future business leaders of our community," Mayor Kelly Yaede said.

One student is chosen from each of the municipality's three high schools by the guidance departments. Aguilar attended Steinert High School, Dwyer attended Nottingham and Bezek attended Hamilton West.

The scholarships are funded from private dollars earned through annual Economic Development Advisory Commission events.

Mayor Yaede and Councilman Ralph Mastrangelo also presented proclamations to the award winners.

"I want to congratulate them, as well as thank our dedicated Economic Development Advisory Commission for their continued dedication and commitment to supporting the continued education of our students," Yaede said.
