Unidentified man hit by car in critical condition

Police say the man had just gotten off a NJ Transit bus in Hamilton

HAMILTON -- Police say a man was seriously injured when he was struck by a car after getting off a NJ Transit bus in Hamilton.

Police were dispatched to the accident scene on Nottingham Way near Vincent Avenue around 9:18 p.m. Wednesday.

The unidentified man was crossing Nottingham Way when he was hit by a 2004 Honda Civic traveling eastbound, police said.

The man was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, where he remains in critical condition. He is described as Hispanic, about 20 to 25 years old, 5-feet-8 to 5-feet-10, 140 pounds and wearing a white shirt, khaki pants and black shoes.

The driver, a 67-year-old Hamilton man, was not injured, police said.

The crash is under investigation by Officers Jose Anaya and Paul Micharski. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hamilton Police Traffic Unit at 609-581-4024 or the anonymous tipline at 609-581-4008.
