TRENTON -- Sheriff's officer's arrested a Trenton man during a foot pursuit near the Mercer County Criminal Courthouse downtown following a fight inside the building.
The fight occurred a little after 4 p.m. Thursday following a proceeding in a courtroom, the Mercer County Sheriff's Office said Friday.
Elijah Abdullah Officers saw the scuffle on security cameras and responded, and some people involved fled the building, at 400 South Warren St.
Officers chased after one combatant, Elijah Abdullah, 20, and caught him at Livingston and South Warren streets, around the corner from the courthouse.
Abdullah allegedly had 17 packets of marijuana in his possession.
He was charged with assault, resisting arrest, hindering apprehension, possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana in a public park zone.
Abdullah was initially held on $10,000 bail.
Records show Abdullah has a criminal conviction from 2015 for drug dealing.
